Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel Xti Remote shutter release easy hackHi, I successfully made a shutter release cable by reusing one of my old LG handsfree cable. All you have to do is cut off the cable towards the earphones. It works!! If you press the call recieve button once the camera focusses (depending upon your lens setting to AF or MF). You press it once more and there you go!! Enjoy and do keep me posted. I got mine made for $1.5. Isn't it amazing? Maneesh Maneesh Sharma Cool, I am going to go home and try this tonight as I have a need for that this weekend! Thanks! Curt I love to change things. People who can come up with upgrades when they are told it can't happen are the hope of this world. Many years ago I helped design a lot of hardware for computers and later designed innovative software when the big program was Pong. Anyway, I have a Canon 400D and know it runs on firmware. I also use a Fuji point and shoot FinePix 6000. I can shoot higher then ISO 6400 with the Fuji but for the Canon that costs more then 4 times the price it only has a ISO 1600 limit. The new 40D has an ISO of 3200 and uses the same operating system as my 400D. I would just like to raise the ISO of my camera by adjusting the firmware. Any ideas? John Cip I found this to be a very interesting innovation. Could you be more specific as to how you did this? Wanda Fooca
