Memory card error/card lockedplease help. i just got a sansisk 4.0gb memory card for my canon powershot sd600. a message appears saying there's a memory card error and that the card is locked. i have tried locking and unlocking the card, but it doesn't do anything. i also cannot format because that option is blacked out. my other memory card (kinston 256mb) works just fine and have had it for many years now. i do not have a memory card reader either. what can i do? judy First thing that comes to mind is that maybe the card is formatted to FAT32, but maybe the SD600 can only read FAT/FAT16 cards. Try plugging the memory card into your computer and see if that's the case. If so, you can format it to the other format with your computer. Oh wait! Is that a 4GB SD Card? It's probably SDHC, a new standard. The original SD Card standard can only support memory size up to 2GB. I'm wondering if maybe your SD600 isn't compatible with SDHC cards. Looks like the incompatibility is confirmed here: Will a 4g SDHC card work with my Canon SD600? Chieh Cheng i have this exact sane issue so im going to try and buy a lower GB SD card and see if this works....sucks!! Bob
