Canon N3 Connector Pinout
N3 connectors can be cannabalized from inexpensive Chinese after-market triggers sold on eBay. These don't have the outside shank that locks the N3 into the camera. The aftermarket triggers are cheaper than the Canon cords.

FYI, you can get the female N3 connector from Canon Service. If you call them and talk to the parts desk, the N3 jack is part # CB1-7756-000. This part number is from an EOS 3, but it should be the same for any camera that uses N3.
The part is not terribly cheap. $15. But you could put together an N3-N3 extension or N3-E3 adapter for less than $30.
