Casio Exilim EX-S500 versus Canon Powershot SD400

Do you have any experience with either. I am narrowing down to these two ultra-compacts. I really like the video capability for something that small.

I have never used either. The Casio is slightly thinner but bigger than the Canon. The Casio looks quite slick. They are made for similar markets--5 MP, same sensor size, similar lens range.

For macro shots, the SD400 can focus much closer than the EX-S500.

On the other than, the EX-S500 has a slightly larger shutter speed range than the SD400.

I think either one will be just fine for snap-shooting.

I bought the Elixim s500. It's very compact and fast. However, the images are soft and full of artifacts. If you have been shooting with a DSLR, you're not going to be happy with this camera. I'm so displeased with he image quality that I can't really recommend this to anyone who's a photo enthusiast. This is for snapshooters only.
