Shutter release button destroyed

One of my African Grey parrots has just managed to jump on my Panasonic Lumix FZ-18 and before I could get him off it he destroyed the shutter release/zoom button!

I've tried to put it back together but he's broken a piece off so it's impossible.

Could this be repaired if I took the camera to a photographic shop?

I'm in the UK.

Thanks in advance!
