can't download photos from 88379 digital camera

I bought my Granddaughter the 88379 Digital camera .And she took pictures with it and and it say it had some on the camera and we tryed downloading them and nothing showed up.On the computer .I think the camera sucks.And i want my money back!!!!!

I cannot figure out how to get the pictures from the camera to the computer...my hubby bought the 88379 kidz cam for our son for christmas....this is driving me crazy. i follow all the instructions in the booklet, and then there is an error, that says something about a file is missing or spelled wrong....it is the transtwain.exe something like that....anyone know what I can do? camera came from Radio Shak and in the excitement of christmas, the plastic packaging is gone....still have the paperwork.....

FAQ, I installed the camera in XP as an administrator, now my when my kids, logged in as a non admin account, try to get their pictures we get an error. I emailed the support email, they told me I need a transtwain.exe file. They said to get it from a reputable site, like download.com, but I did a search there and no obvious results.

I can download the pictures if I log in to the original account. Hope this helps, I'm still searching.

I bought the same camera for my daughter. It has yet to work. I get an error on the screen saying that it cannot locate "transtwain.exe". WTF? I want my money back also.

I was able to find the manual for this camera and was able to download pictures with the software that came with it....

I bought the 88379 for my son. I've followed the instructions and downloaded the drivers from the CD, but still it comes up with 'Digital camera not found!'. I re-down loaded the software from thier site : Sakar International Inc - DRIVER DOWNLOADS , but still no photos. Kids are upset. I also want my money back !

It is rather interesting that the company "Sakar" can be pronounced sucker, and the name of the camera is the "Kid Scam".

We're having the same problem with the camera regarding transtwain.exe. These people should make sure there stuff works before they try marketing it.

I too am having trouble with this camera. I installed the driver...everything shows up on my desktop but when I connect the camera to the computer it says that the "device is not recognized" and that there is "no driver installed". It is really making me mad. A complete rip off!!!! And when I went into the webpage link it is no longer available....suprise, suprise...wonder why?! Jerks!!! So not impressed...guess I'll just toss it in the garbage and watch it make its way to the dump with the rest of the wothless junk in there. I would like my money back also....but not holding my breath on that. :(

Guys, please uninstall the drivers and the software you have downloaded on your computer for this camera and download the updated drivers from the following links

I have three boys and bought them each a camera and only 1 out of 3 3 can I download pics. The other two, when I tried to download it gives me the same error message, transtwain.exe has stopped working. Thats too bad , I thought they were neat for kids. Now they share the one camera but not the same as when you have your own.

Hi, Brenda.

You cannot install all the three camera (if the model number is same) in one computer. You will have to uninstall the drivers and software for first camera and install the drvers and software for second. You can then download the pictures.

This is the worst product I have ever seen.
Never ever buy this product even the company's own web site does not have the drivers for this JUNK. The hardtail60 was right we are all suckers!

I had problems with my computer recognizing the camera and getting them onto my computer. I resolved this by downloading software and installing it from here

After I had installed the drivers and software and restarted my computer, I had to go to the control panel and "add hardware". This time my computer added the camera and I could get the pics off of it.

My son was given a 88379 kidz cam for christmas with the same problem but his didn't come with software! I found a driver download for the camera on stark.com but all it did was turn the camera into a web-cam

This thing sucks...I bought it with Vista in mind, and none of the drivers works. I've tried 3 different versions. It keeps saying there is no camera.

Bottom line, crap, avoid at all costs.

After struggling to get this camera to load its pics onto my computer for several hours now, I've decided to chunk the blasted thing in the trash! My kids trashed the packaging while getting it open on Christmas morning, but regardless, it did not come with a manual or disc. I've tried every which way I can think to get it to work, including visiting their website and several others to retrieve the download that was supposedly for this camera, with no luck! The only thing on my computer after downloading and restarting numerous times, is an option to "Uninstall Dual Mode Camera". My kids are upset because they wanted to use their new camera. I'm working with Vista, but we've also tried loading it onto a friend's computer who is using 2000. No luck either way!

Yeah... my kids got these for Christmas from their grandma. They worked fine for about 45 minutes. Then all of a sudden one of them won't download pictures, giving a Win32 exception in transtwain.exe

Great job - couldn't these guys just make the camera in a standard way so that it would map as a drive or allow Windows to use its own picture download tool?

this camera is BS. I thought it was supposed to be easy. my little brother is so upset that he cant see the pictures that he made everybody in the family pose for. Gimme My Money Back- and I want credit also. im emailing the news channel about this problem

I'll be darn. I thought I was just stupid. Come to find out, I've been scammed like everyone else. When I look up this mysterious transTWAIN.exe, for which I continually get error messages, I find that it is malware. I've asked for a return on the rip-off of a camera and am told I am basicly screwed. I'd just like to say, it is the kids that are hurt by this. Not the amount of money spent or the aggrivation of the adults. Hello Kitty can bite my beautiful lilly white ***.

im with you guys, but let me tell you... the quality of this camera is ABSOLUTE trash. Worst camera ive ever seen. my telephone KILLS this thing and its easier. amazing.

how can they get away with this!! highway robbery!! I've attached an example of this piece of garbage camera's photo quality on the "HI" quality setting.... amazing.

I happened along TransTwain in my program files. I didn't where it came from or how it got on to my computer or even what it does. At any rate, if you need it - here you go. It probably was on a cd for the digital camera.

Got drivers and got pictures downloaded but did it on an old pc and picture quality was horrible. Now I'm trying to get all of those files off my laptop. What a headache.
