model 57483 display screen too dark...

I just bought the blue 4.1 megapixel sakar camera, but when I try to use the display screen on the back to take pictures, the screen is too dark. I can barely see what I'm aiming at in bright indoor light. I tried messing with the white balance option that changes the lighting condition, but nothing really happended. A little help please?
