reinsert memory stick error on DSC-S950

My Sony steady shot DSC S 950 giving me the "reinsert memory stick" error. I had sandisk 1GB PRO in there....
I cant afford to loose my once in life time pictures there :-((
Please help !!!!

I have the same problem but I haven't found a solution.
Luckily I have a warranty and pruchased insurance so that's my reply to you Roma.

I have just been on a Europe tour and the exact same problem has occurred for me.
If I don't get my photos back I will be devastated. If anyone has a solution, please let me know too!!

I have this exact same camera, and I'm having the exact same problem. It's really really really really touchy, and it has to be in there just right. I usually just have to take it out and put it back in over and over again. If your computer has a pro duo card reader, then use it. My computer has NO problem reading the card. Way to go HP. Sony, you suck. I won this camera, didn't buy it, so I can't use the warranty. :(

Same problem here, maybe sandisk is not compatible with this model.

I had the same problem with 2 different SANDISK devices. Called SONY support and they asked me to send the DSC S950 for check! During my call with the support guy, I had the feeling that SONY already knows about this problem but they are not issuing the RECALL yet...
