Canon EOS 7D Review

The Canon EOS 7D is a great camera for someone who's looking to get a better camera than the typical point and shoot styles that are readily available. This camera I would say is for the aspiring professional. The 3" LCD display is great for quickly viewing your pictures. It's also great for observing the effects you're attempting before shooting your picture. Some great effects I've worked on are putting certain images in my photo in or out of focus. I only have one lens as of now, but you could upgrade to anything you would like. The 18 MP resolution gives great clarity, however, you will need a big memory card if you're in to taking a lot of pictures like myself. I recently did a photo shoot at valley forge national park. The colors and clarity of the changing leaves was quite breath taking. I used many different lighting angles that accomplished what I was looking for. The battery life of the camera is a little disappointing, especially on a long shoot, so I'm considering getting a spare. I'm anxious to take the camera to the beach as well this summer. I would definitely suggest getting a carrying case for the camera. If you're considering spending this much for a camera, a carrying case would be essential to protect it. I have very little complaints about this camera other than battery life. To my suprise, the weight of the camera is not bad either. I was expecting a large, powerful camera such as this to be much heavier than your typical point and shoot camera, but is not. I do have a strap that I use to keep it around my neck and it is not uncomfortable at all. Because of all the great pictures I've been taking, I've kind of a camera junkie. Another great thing about the camera is its ease to transfer pictures to my computer. The intructions make it extremely easy to transfer. The only downfall would be that because of the 18 MP, the images take up a lot of memory and can take a little longer than usual to transfer to the hard drive. Once on your computer, the images are always fun to mess around with on a program like photoshop, but I must say that I've taken so many good pictures that I rarely have to do any improvements. Overall the best camera I have ever had.
