Canon PowerShot Firmware Hacks

I found a web page on "Hacking the Canon Powershots". This web page listed the actual firmware bits to change to extend the video recording time from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Codes for the following PowerShot cameras are listed:


  • Canon Powershot A70
  • Canon Powershot A75
  • Canon Powershot S230 (Canon Digital IXUS v3)
  • Canon Powershot Pro1

It's quite refreshing to see the actual hex code that needs to be changed, rather than simply offering the modified firmware for download.

i need the hex code to extend the shutter speed past 15 seconds....can someone plz help

Yes, and I would like to see a hack for the powershot a430 to extend the shutter speed from 1 to 15 or more........
