MLU control for original Canon 5D (not MKII)

Chieh,

I read your website how you control a Canon 300D

Can you also control the MLU of the original Canon 5D (not MKII) so that the mirror stays up after a shot? I would pay you $500 for the development if it currently is not implemented.

Or, do you know somebody who could do this for me?

Did you really intend to say "stay up after a shot"? MLU is intended to keep the mirror up for a few seconds BEFORE the shot, not after. After the shot, the mirror swings down.

You are right, I meant keeping the mirror up BEFORE and AFTER the shots. The goal is to shot several images without the mirror coming down. The mirror should only come down (and then up again) with a special software command.

Kind regards.

Doesn't the 5D already support mirror lockup?
Or are you asking for a specific MLU operation that is different than the standard MLU operation on the camera?

Yes, the 5D has an MLU but the mirror comes down after the delay period of each image. For our photos we need to focus and then have the mirror stay up for 20-100 shots.

I see. Is the camera going to be connected to a computer via a cable, so that the computer could control this process? Or does this have to be entirely self-contained within the camera?

Yes, the camera is connected to a computer the whole time.
