Problems with Powershot SD10

My SD10 is about 2-2 1/2 years old and it recently started to freeze up after I would take a picture. The LCD screen shows the picture but it has lines through it. The camera will not power off, I have to take the battery out for it to shut off. Has anyone heard of this problem before? Is it fixable? Or should I get a new camera?

have you had any luck with this? My girlfriend's SD10 is having a similar issue -lines through the pictures, like horizontal venetian blinds. Hers IS able to power off though...
