Casio Exilim EX-H10 - The Camera of Your Dreams

There were times some years ago when one would think about having sleek'n'slim mobile phones with having everything that one could ever think of, for instance a music player, a camera, a file-sharing mechanism, a big enough screen for watching videos etc. But after a moment one would realize, it was not really possible; the world in your hands. Courtesy the evolving technologies, nowadays the kind of phone technology we are having is surely enough to give a person from those ߵprehistoric' times goosebumps.

But hey! Let me recall you all this is not a phone review. I came to think of all the above things when I came across a Casio Exilim EX-H10 camera. If I said that in terms of being a camera, it had a lot more to offer that could easily sweep you off your feet; you will probably not agree with me. My suggestion to you, just carry on reading this article.

So what is so special about this gadget? Well, it is really compact & has got a 10x zoom. Here we've got a 24-mm wide-angle lens stabilized by a 12.1 megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD-shift sensor with up to ISO 3200 sensitivity, a 3-inch LCD, and the ability to grab Motion-JPEG video at 720/24p. Add to it a EXILIM 4.0 image processing and a 10 frames per second burst mode for 1,280 x 960 pixel images too in a point-and-shoot measuring just 102.5 x 24.3 x 62-mm. And the last kill is the pricing which is currently set at about $400 & is rumored to go down as per the market response.

For those fashionable picture takers, it is a sigh of relief that finally a company has taken care of your desires & provided an alternative look in pink for the camera which is really good & chic. The camera offers 64-3200 ISO. It has 35.7MB internal memory and a SDHC card slot, which is slightly disappointing & could be more but who knows it could be improved in the subsequent models of the series. The company is marketing it as the thinnest & lightest camera of its generation. Well, on the first look it really is quite compact can also take 1,000 shot son a single battery charge – making it the perfect travel companion. The long-life battery gives users about 11 consecutive hours of viewing on a single charge. The new Casio EX-H10 with 35MB built in memory features the new Landscape Mode for creating beautiful landscapes. Unlike earlier landscape photography modes, which enhance the entire hue saturation, users can now select between the Vivid Landscape option that uses image analysis to determine and enhance the most important colors in the landscape and the Mist Removal option makes weather-affected misty scenes look better & brighter.

With such a good profile to boast, the camera is surely expected to go places.

OK. I have read the same information on all the websites, that is just the same as the press release. I just wish I knew when it would be available for sale in the USA. The press release states it would start shipping in mid- July 2009. I have seen it for sale in Japan (on ebay) and in (of all places!) Lithuania. I hope it is soon. Casio/USA just says it has not been officially released. This sounds like a great camera despite its shortcomings, but it can't be everything to everybody. Casio cameras are well-made and stylish. We have owned two and now have an Ex S-12 that is just so much fun to use and takes great pictures. Who needs a large DSLR?

I agree. My wife has the Casio Exilim EX-S10 and she loves using it. I'd probably stop using my DSLRs and use her camera if it just has more manual controls.
