Fujifilm FinePix A170 is a Great Buy for $89

This is not a super fancy camera for high end professionals, but this camera is quality buy for someone on a budget. This thing is great for kids. I gave one to my twelve year old daughter so that she could take it to summer camp and remember her friends there throughout the year. I was surprised at the quality of the pictures it took and have seen worse on much more expensive cameras. All in all this is good buy, but lets look at the specs.

The Fujifilm FinePix A170 sports a pretty good 10.2 megapixel CCD. This will make some pretty large prints; you might not be able to make a poster with this camera, but you can make a sharp 8x10. The lens is an f2.9-5.2, with a 3x zoom lens. This lens is equal to a 32mm with a zoom up to 92mm. The view screen is pretty awesome and is 2.7 inches and the colors look really good. Even though this camera doesn't cost must it's screen looks really nice. It gives you good resolution and it has about 230,000 pixels all crammed in to those 2.7 inches. Technology these days is amazing and all for around $90.

My daughter also liked to use the video features which shoots in VGA at 30fps with sound. The videos look good and are great fun to watch and easy to convert and put on YouTube or send in an e-mail. The videos take up a lot of memory on the cards, but it is a good thing that this camera accepts both SD and SDHC cards that means you can get one up to 16mb, but that would cost more than the camera itself. As for the power this camera take two AA batteries. I think it has both good points and bad points when a camera takes batteries instead of being rechargeable. It is good because you can change the batteries anywhere and it is handy if you are camping and away from electrical outlets. I think battery cameras are great for kids since they often don't remember to charge their cameras.

In the end this is a really good deal for a solid camera at a great price. I think this a great starter camera or if you are traveling and don't want to spend a lot on camera and don't care if the pictures are amazing. I would recommend this camera to anyone on a hundred dollar budget. I think it is good bang for the buck.

I completely agree! Even my 5yr old can take great shots with it.
And I did bought a 16MB SDHC with it. It'll take a 30 min. video now!
Am very pleased with it.

Agreed-I enjoy my A170 as that SDHC cards are used and the neat in-camera panorama stitching.
