I have a Kodak Z710 camera, I was taking pictures when it shut off by itself, and the zoom lens will not retract. When I try to turn it back on its starts for a few seconds but shuts off. It will allow me to go into demo mode or view my photos, however it will not stay on in capture mode, nor will the lens retract when it shuts off. I tried the online help/nohelp deal and called the 800 number... nohelp there either. Any help with this would be great... Thanks...!

When power is low my z710 does the same thing. It seems to be a powersave feature. To test this, switch to fresh batteries (not rechargeables) and see if it gets fixed. If it does then the rechargeables are probably the cause.
best of luck
