I have a Kodak DX4530 and I am interested in getting a telephoto lens. I saw you reviewed the Sima lens and you seemed to know a great deal about this subject so I thought I'd ask you some questions I was hoping you could answer.
Do you happen to know if the adapter that comes with the SIMA SLS-20 2X Telephoto Conversion Lens fits the camera I have which is a 38-114mm lens?
Since the default is 37mm, does it come with an adapter for the type of lens I mentioned or would I have to get a separate adapter?
You mentioned that the front accepts 46mm. Would additional zoom lenses be good or would they distort the image to the point of corruption?
Is there picture corruption using the lense?
Is the viewfinder's image blocked because of the zoom lens?
Will I be able to see the zoom in effect in the viewfinder or will I have to rely on the liveview to get an accurate idea of how much of the image I am going to get in the picture?
Is there a better lens that I should look into getting? I've been looking at Kodak's 'official' telephoto lens and I'm not sure which way to go.
I appreciate any help you could provide before I make my decision whether or not to buy this product.

It will probably work. But only experimentation can tell.

You have to get a separate adapter. Kodak makes a lens adapter for both DX4330 and DX4530 digital cameras.
It's $20 direct from Kodak or $16 from Amazon.
You mentioned that the front accepts 46mm. Would additional zoom lenses be good or would they distort the image to the point of corruption?
Seems fine when I used my Olympus 1.45x teleconverter with it. You can judge the pictures yourself from my Sima teleconverter article.
Is there picture corruption using the lense?
I did not see much distortion with the Sima nor the Olympus lens.
Is the viewfinder's image blocked because of the zoom lens?
It is very possible that the optical viewfinder may be blocked by the lenses. That's the short-comes of a rnagefinder point-n-shoot camera.
On my Sony DSC-P92, I only use the electrical viewfinder, which is very much through-the-lens like a SLR camera. I cannot stand the parallex effect of a rangefinder.
Will I be able to see the zoom in effect in the viewfinder or will I have to rely on the liveview to get an accurate idea of how much of the image I am going to get in the picture?
I am assuming your "liveview" is the electronic viewfinder. This is the idea method for WYSIWYG (old computer term).
Is there a better lens that I should look into getting? I've been looking at Kodak's 'official' telephoto lens and I'm not sure which way to go.
Kodak "official" lenses are the best way to go, because they are "officially" tested with your camera to make sure there is no vignette and other undesireable effects. Stick with Kodak if you want to be safe.
But it doesn't mean you can't get better lenses elsewhere. It just takes some experimentations. And sometimes the "undesireable" effects can yield you great pictures effects! It's just fun experimenting with different lenses.
You can get Kodak accessories, for your camera, directly from this Kodak web page.
But they are generally cheaper at Amazon . . .

Where can I find a lens adapter for a Kodak dx 4530 to fit my retinar 37mm wide angle lens?
