Minolta Dimage 7hi shows black screen

I have the exact same issue with Minolta Dimage A1 which has the smeared look as on the sony site (fig.A), and a Minolta Dimage 7hi, which has the black screen (with a light band of orange, just at the top). Since Sony bought out minolta, does anyone know if they will service minolta. Is there a way to do it your self? The smeared appearance looks like a coating on the lowpass filter may have disolved (read humidity)and "ran". Is this possible? If so, it seems that it would be easy to clean, if you could get to it. Also might be a good candidate for NIR. Any thoughts or suggestions? thanks
