Ricoh GR Digital III - A great camera.

The Ricoh GR Digital III is an amazing piece of equipment. With all of its features it is perfect for the advanced amateur. With it being a 10 Mega Pixel camera, your images will be crisp and clear, picking up even the smallest detail when you zoom in to look close. There is no optical zoon unfortunately, but the Ricoh is able to focus as close as 1cm to whatever you are shooting.

It has a 3 inch screen, that can display 920,000 pixels and in conjunction with that, it can display up to 81 thumbnail images on the screen. The screen has a wide viewing angle so even outdoors where visibility is usually not as good, it is still very easy to see. Also the screen has a special surface on it, where it can resist spoiling.

With its ISO ranging from 64 all the way up to 1600, taking pictures in low light conditions, or even at night, they still turn out great looking. It has 4 different picture modes, the Skew Correct mode, which if you are taking pictures of rectangular objects like bill boards etc; it removes the distortion you would normally get. Text setting, movie setting, and then a My settings where you can set it up how you want to, so it's completely customizable.

It has all the normal features that a camera has, like Flash on, Flash off, Slow Sync, and red eye reduction, but it is also future proof where it can be upgraded. There is a hotshoe for an external flash unit if you were to ever feel the need. It has a plethora of white balances, so whatever setting you choose to be in, your photos will always look excellent. If you wanted to go a little bit further you can also purchase a mounted viewfinder for it as well.

You can also take movies on it too. It's not amazing resolution, but for people who are shooting a few seconds here and there it is perfect. The resolution choices for shooting a movie is either 320 x 240 or 640 x 480 both at 15/30 frames per second.

For the model photographer, if that is your thing, you can get the camera to take continuous shots every 0.62 seconds, and it captures it at a full resolution every time. The colors on the camera really pop out at you, and on top of all that, it has an internal electronic level on the screen so it will show you if the camera is level or not when you are taking the picture.
