low battery on 7.1 megapixel digital camera

purchased a digital concepts 7.1 megapics. camera..
and just like everyone else, after duracell, ever ready, energizer batteries...still tells me low battery...resets itself each time i turn it off.
called the customer service number 877-397-8200.
customer service guy told me to mail it in and a free replacement would be shipped.....not sure if it is true or not...will let ya know.
