4GB card won't read, how can my photos be saved?

I just bought and used a sony dsc-s930, and a brand new 4gb sandisk memory stick pro duo to go with it. i used it my entire vacation, and the last night, i took a photo, turned it off, turned it back on a few min later, and it says 'reinsert the memory stick." i tried that, no use. i came home, and put it into the card reader on my printer (brother). computer (mac) doesn't see it. i tried to put it in the camera and attach the camera via usb to the computer, nope. went out and bought a $40 sandisk card reader, nothing. the card reader showed up with a regular 2gb sd card, but nothing with the memory stick. i tried the eraser thing on the gold contacts. i assume they are bad. what do i do?

Hi, your problem is orcan solved with an special usb HC reader, the readers today cant read the higher memory cards and they came out with a HC (high capcitiy) ready, you can one at staples and put your card in the usb reader and plug it into a usb port and presto there are your photos
