I have a DCS-W70 that I picked up in Iraq about three years ago. It's a great little camera. A few months back my daughter was using it and left it in her pants and it went through the washing machine. Now the lens is stuck out and it won't power on. Is it a lost cause or does anyone have a suggestion?

Take the battery out and leave it out in open space to dry. In a dry area, it'll probably dry out in a few weeks. In a moist area, you'll probably want to leave it in an air conditioned environment for a few weeks. It might take a month to dry out. Once it has dried out you can try the battery again. At that time, the battery may be dead and needs to be recharged. Put a charged battery back in the camera and see if it powers on. With luck, it'll still work.
