DSC-W80 funtion reversal

I had my w80 in a waterproof bag that leaked only slightly but it was enough to reverse the funtions on some of the buttons. For example, when I turn the wheel to the snow setting, it reads it as program auto. Video and program auto do nothing however. Also when I press the display button it reads it as the macro button, the macro button does nothing and the self timer works fine.

Is there anything I can do other than sending it in to sony?

The leak probably short-circuited some of the electronics. You can try to dry it out and see if it works after that.

If you are good at electronics, you can buy an used one off eBay and attempt to change the circuit board yourself.
