DSC W50 ran over...only the LCD is broken?

Long story short I believe my DSC-W50, while in my backpack, was run over by an ATV sized vehicle. The LCD display is cracked, while the outer screen is still intact. It appears to be otherwise working fine; I can still take pictures and transfer them to my computer, and there isn't anything wrong with them. Is there anywhere other than ebay I can look to find replacement LCD's? Do many of the cybershot line use the same display? And lastly, is it likely that other components were damaged (I'm thinking the cables connecting the screen and what have you...)

Long story short, my DSC-W50 was ran over in a backpack by an ATV-sized vehicle. It appears that the only thing broken is the LCD. I can still take pictures, and still transfer successfully to the computer. The lens looks to be fine. As for going about replacing this LCD, where are good places to look for replacements other than ebay? Do other cameras of the cybershot line use the same LCD? Is it likely that other parts are broken (maybe the ribbon attached to the display, I don't know.) Lastly, I can't get the back casing off of the camera, it seems stuck by the buttons and rotary switch, and I'm afraid of using force to pull it off. Suggestions?

Hmmm....my son took his Sony Cybershot DSC-S500 to the prom, swears he did not drop it or anything, but now it's having the same problem you describe. The outer layer of the LCD viewer does not appear to be cracked, but when you turn it on, it's like you can see a few fine cracks and a "blob" (for lack of a better term) on the screen as if something struck the screen in that spot. It still takes pictures, although you can't see what you're taking in the viewfinder. Pictures download with no problem as well. I would be interested in finding a replacement LCD and instructions on how to replace it.
