Downloading to PC Clips Video

Help, trouble! Can't download my videos to my PC! When I take a video, then download it to my PC only see a few seconds of the picture play, although I hear all of the sound. I can play the entire video on the camera, so I know it's there. Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know how to fix it?

You'll have to start by describing how you download the video to your computer. Details like what type of cable you use (USB or Firewire) to transfer the video is very important. What format is the final video you try to play back (MPG, AVI, etc)?
