Formatting Error in DSC-W70

hi,i have sony camera DSC-W70,recently i am facing a problem with it,the pictures which were there in my camera got deleted by its own,and on clicking any new picture it says 'Formatting Error'.
kindly guide me as to wat should be done in order to make my camera functional.
