Hacking Cybershot T100 Folders

I just purchased the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100. You can create folders to organize your pictures but I'd like to change the folder names from the original "101MSDCF" to something like "Family Photos". I tried changing the name directly through the memory card but the camera wouldn't recognize the folders. I suspect I would have to get directly into the camera OS. Any ideas on how I can make this work?
