Chieh, I heard that you are an author of a digital photography book - I'm impressed! I also need to ask for some advice (ok, maybe I should just go out and buy the book - but this is free and faster). I'm in the market for a digital camera, nothing fancy, I'm a point and shoot photographer. I was thinking of the Sony Cybershot DSC-T7 or Sony DSC-W7. Do you know anything about these cameras? Anyway, any advice you could give would be appreciated.

I have to say, Sony makes very good consumer cameras. It's hard to go wrong with Sony. I actually have three Sony point-and-shoot cameras. Both the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7 and Sony DSC-W7 are excellent. You won't be disappointed. The trade-offs between these two are that one is smaller and have less functionality, while the other is bigger and has more functionality. With the DSC-W7, you have many more photographic controls and the ability to attach accessory lenses. The DSC-T7 on the other hand is small and compact to carry around, with less control and the inability to use accessory lenses. I have a DSC-T11 that is very similar to the DSC-T7. I wrote a review on the DSC-T11 on this web site that you can use as a reference.
