I own an Sony DSC-N1 digital camera and one of the extra Sony Memory stick has a C13:01 error and cannot either view the pictures or download to computer. I do not want to erase any existing pictures since I haven't download the pictures yet. The strange thing is that when I run the slide show, the pictures can be viewed. Seems the camera is working fine sine the other 1 GB Sony memory stick duo pro where I already download the pictures have no problem viewing the picture and has no error code. Can anyone comment or help? Thanks.

I have a Sony F717 with the same issue not reading and giving 13:01 I called Sony and I was told my repair is a minimum charge of $250.00 Dlls. What a bunch of Jerks at SONY. I have realized how faulties are these cameras and Sony should consider ourselves when it comes to repairs or service.
Buying another one on Ebay is probably cheaper. However. Do you guys know who sells the memory slot or circuit boards?
Thanks

Well, the obvious solution would appear to be a USB memory card reader that can do MemoryStick Duos. That will probably set you back $20 or so, which is less than the price of buying, developing and printing a couple of 35mm films.
Once you have recovered what's on the card, you can fuck with the card itself to your heart's content.
My DSC-600 manual says:
> C:13:ss
> The camera cannot read or write data on the Memory Stick Duo. Turn the power off and then on again and re-insert the Memory Stick Duo several times.
> The internal memory has experienced a format error, or an unformatted Memory Stick Duo is inserted. Format the internal memory or the Memory Stick Duo (pages 46 and 47).
> The inserted Memory Stick Duo cannot be used with your camera, or the data is damaged. Insert a new Memory Stick Duo (page90).
So, the overall shittiness of cybershots ignores, the problem is most likely to do with the card itself, or the contacts with the card. If Snoy are suggesting "insert/extract" cycles as a potential fix, the most likely is going to be dodgy contacts - try either the Snoy solution or use a hard pencil eraser on the contacts of your card. If it's still no good, it may be that the card slot is fucked, which is gonna be a bit tough to fix (and is probably what the Sony dealer is quoting you a quarter of a K for), or simply that the card itself is dead.
