Sony-F828 Error message

I turned my camera on this morning and the View Finder, and LCD screen are both black. The "information" part of the camera is working - shows the resolution, battery left, pictures left, etc. An error message "E:02:00" is also flashing.

I can set the camera to flash, and different modes, and actually "take" a picture - though I have no idea what the picture might look like as I cannot view it on the screen.

Additionally, when I turn the camera on and off, there is a soft "clicking" noise for a few seconds.

I tried removing the battery and reinstalling it, as well as the media. I also reset the camera. The camera is still responding in the same way.

Does anyone know what the error message (I assume that is what I see flashing) means? I've looked in the Instruction manual, and this error message is not shown.

Thanks a bunch.

When you reset the camera, did you press the RESET button inside the battery/memory stick cover?

Did you look at the memory card to see whether a picturew was taken?
