Have you taken apart your DSC-P93 yet?
On the Sony DSC-P92 the common power is really easy to spot. If you have ever taken apart your PC then you have seen the 4-wire power connectors that goes to the hard drives and disk drives. The P92 has one of these that connects to the circuit board . . . just a miniature version.
If you want to see a picture, I have it at home on my hard disk.

If you have a pic of the internals of the p93 that would be great. I haven't ripped it apart yet as im familiar with hacking the p41 at the moment (Very simple to modify with a servo connector) and didn't want to destroy the p93.
You mention the P92. Is this identical to the P93?
The points I need to locate and solder to apparently are incredibly tiny and easy to damage due to its closeness to other points.
If they are the same as the P92 and if yr able to annotate where the power common and shutter are that'd be great
Look forward to seeing it. Hopefully I wont blow the sucker up...
regards

I don't have a pic of the P93. But I'll send you the P92 pic, when I get home, so that you have a reference. I can't imagine the P92 and P93 being that much different, but you'll find out.

I have attached the picture. See the four different color wires going from the camera to the circuit board? I bet that's the power cable.

Could be, but I think the ribbon cable with the 5 contacts near the shutter button is where i need to be for common power and shutter contact.
Anyone whos knows the p93 please fess up!

Use a digital multimeter on the ribbon cable by the power switch and the wires on the circuit board. If the common ground is the same, then it'll be easier to draw power from the wires than the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable are surface mount type and are very difficult to fix if you screw up.
