hello,
i would like to make a remote shutter release and maybe remote focus for a Sony Mavica MVC-CD250.
anyone have info on making one or the pinout for the connector?
it's an antique but it's what i've got.

Thanks for the link and the chapter.
I had looked at Chapter 1. It is a well written book, very complete, easy for people to follow. It is an excellent work. I have mentioned the title to a few friends who are big cmaera users.
I don't find specific information for my camera. With three conductor remotes some seem to join 2 contacts for shutter and some maybe 3. I don't know if my camera requires the diode voltage drop that you show in one auto focus example.
Any more information or suggestions would be appreciated.

If you are really adventurous, you can try shorting out two pins at a time (say with a metal tweezer). If it is like most cameras, short two of the pins will cause the shutter to trigger, while another two pins will cause the lens to focus.
