My digital Rebel died at just over 6000 frames....but it's rated at 10000! I haven't had the lens release button launch from the Digital Rebel but that did happen a few years ago on my Elan 7e....have been using gaffers tape on that ever since. Also, since the digital Rebel crapped out...I had been using the Elan 7e....but now the release for the film door broke.....so now I have to tape that too!!!!!!!!!!!! My original EOS was an A2E.....which has a cracked mother board...that prevents the shutter from working correctly. Three Canon EOS models....three catastrophic failures and several smaller ones....all of the major failures happening at far less than the rated life of the cameras. If I had the cash for film...I would be using my 30 something year old Konicas.....they all had extensive use before I owned them.....and much more since.....no major problems at all.
Thanks Canon......for some of the most useless expensive electronic hardware ever made by anyone!
Never buy another Canon again!
