Nikon MC-25 cable adapter pin-out
The MC-25 cable adapter converts a Nikon 2-pin remote, such as the MC-12A and MC-12B, into a Nikon 10-pin remote plug.
The 2-pin socket is found on the following cameras:
F-501
F-801, F-801s, N8008, N8008s

I'm puzzling out the Nikon GPS connection.
Nikon's own GP-1 $1,000 (yes, a thousand!) unit switches on and off with the camera. The $140 Geomet'r unit has its own on/off switch, independant of whether the camera is on or not. This suggests to me that there are (at least) two power lines, one switched, and one always on.
I guess that Pin 4 "Receive" gets the signal from the GPS, converted from RS232 to TTL in the MC-35 (or equivalent) external dongle?
In the four years since your helpful posting, have you made any further discoveries?
