Converting N3 Accessories to E3

Thankyou very much for this. Extremely useful. Can't wait to get out there and experiment with my new toy.

This article was really helpful. I was able to make my TC-80N3 Timer Remote Control to work for my Canon Kiss X3! Now I am very contented with it.

The remote I converted had 4 wires - not sure what the green was for. I have the N3 connector if anyone wants it.

Thanks, worked like a charm. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. Cheaper than buying an adapter cable off amazon, and cheaper still than buying a second (off-brand) remote.

I know this is a very old post but I am hoping you get this comment and can answer a question for me. Do you think it's possible to make this adapter work so that with a y-splitter you could fire 2 or maybe even 3 cameras from a single controller?

I don't see why not. It seems to be just a simple contact switch. Try it and let us know if it works.

I know this is a very old thread but I wanted say how helpful it was. I was able to find the Radio Shack connectors on eBay and successfully converted my TC-80N3 timer/controller to an E3 (2.5mm stereo plug) connection for my new EOS R. Works great!! Many thanks.
