When am I going to get my book?

As some of you may know, through my writings or word-of-mouth, I have been working hard at writing a Hacking Digital Cameras book, an ExtremeTech series. All my friends are extremely excited about it and have been telling other people. Just last night, one of them asked me again, "When am I going to get my book?" He had already pre-ordered it from Amazon.

I am very excited as well. I have spent the past year writing this book. It includes a lot of fun and useful information on hacking your camera. I also understand not everyone is an expert at photography or camera handling, so in addition to all the techie stuff, I have provided basic knowledge of applying the exciting new mods to your shooting.

I had turned in the final manuscript back in May. The development editor at Wiley has gone over the material and worked with me to finalize the content. This was done in June. Since then, Wiley's production team has been working hard at putting it together. They have contacted me a few times for clarification. And they wanted to change to book cover to a bluish tone from a redish tone. The executive editor has stopped calling me, but had mentioned that it's time for me to start getting people excited about this book. Other than that it's smooth sailing and all quiet on the western front.

So to answer the question, this book is due out for release within the next month and I don't see any reason why that date would change. You can pretty much bank on it. Now, I like to ask a question, "Did anyone else pre-order Hacking Digital Cameras?" ;-)
