If you are an avid photographer, then you probably have tons of photo on your computer. And that probably means that Windows has generated uncountable number of thumbs.db files all over your hard disk.
Even if you delete all your photos, the thumbs.db files will still be there. The thumbs.db file may contain images that you have already deleted; a privacy issue. While Windows is updating the thumbs.db you can't move or delete a folder. The thumbs.db files are a real pain to manage and clean up.
You can keep thumbs.db file from generating in the first place. All you need to do is a quick registry hack. This "Disable Thumbs.db on Windows 7" thread provides the registry file you need to perform the hack easily and quickly. It works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
