The soft Defocus Control is very useful when this lens get used to highlight a defocused foreground or background. The Defocus Control is available within the range of f/2 to f/5.6. This lens includes a lens lockable front barrel DC aperture ring. This DC aperture ring contains two opposing scales (f/2 to f/5.6). The first one for adjusting the foreground defocus (the F scale) and the second one for adjusting the background defocus (R for rear). The defocus control will work when the user selects the correct DC scale and the aperture must perfectly match with the shooting aperture.

The autofocus feature works very fast and quiet in this lens. The smaller apertures suppress the spherical aberration. If there will be a discrepancy between these two, then the user can get soft pictures. The deviation becomes wider; the images obtained will become softer.
