The Nikon AF NIKKOR 20mm f/2.8D makes professional-level photography easy!

To start off, the Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D lens is a simple one. I've been taking occasional photography jobs for the last few years, and as a result, I've come to spend a good deal of my time picking up the latest lenses. Through the years, I've come across my fair share of duds. From lenses that couldn't focus on a person if the world depended on it, to those who often fall victim to terminal glare. I'm fairly happy to say, however, that the 20mm f/2.8D is not one of those problem-riddled lenses that I've grown to dislike so much.

In fact, I'd say that the Nikon 20mm f/2.8D is the perfect fusion of power and simplicity. It seems that no matter the shot, level of motion, or focus level needed, the 20mm f/2.8D takes photos worth bragging over.

Earlier this year, I received numerous orders for family portraits, Christmas card photos, and even a line-up of employee ID photos. Although, obviously, I was thrilled by the surge of business, I was left with a fairly large predicament. I was currently equipped with a fairly complex lens with a wide variety of features which even I did not fully understand. While it might have been possible to fake my way through the family portraits, taking 50-odd employee ID photos over the course of an hour and a half wasn't going to happen. I came to the conclusion that I would need to find a lens which was simpler, and yet more dynamic. After I spent some amount of time combing the web for the best lenses, I came across the Nikon 20mm f/2.8D.

Days later, my new lens was at my doorstep. I'm ecstatic to say that all of my lined up work went exquisitely, and with the help of the 20mm f/2.8D, I may very well have taken my small business to the next level.

First off, the 20mm f/2.8D is excellent for taking wide-angle photos. The lens is fairly large, and as a result makes for high resolution photographs which are perfectly suited to printing. Not only are said photos big and full of brilliant color, they are also excellently focused. You see, I'd spent many, many years using auto-focus cameras. This is what most people do, and this is what most people assume is best. Let me just say that this is terribly incorrect. The 20mm f/2.8D's focus ring is notched, allowing for quick and accurate adjustments. I was able to take numerous images which I would have been unable to with an auto-focus camera. Also, the f2.8 has an impressive shutter speed, making motion-heavy photos easy.

All and all, I've never really encountered any major issues with the Nikon 20mm f/2.8. The only complaint that I could possibly think to make (and it isn't necessarily a complaint), is that sharper lenses do exist. While it is not the absolute pinnacle of quality, it is most definitely up there. If you're looking for a lens that works well, is easy to operate, and takes stunning photos, I full-heartedly recommend the Nikon AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D.
