Panasonic LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm F4.0 Aspherical -- A Glorious Lens

Panasonic is a Japan based electronic products company and they are the leading manufacturers of DVD recorders and players, batteries, digital cameras, telephones and a lot more. Panasonic has introduced a new ultra wide-angle zoom lens named Panasonic LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm F4.0 Aspherical.

This lens is a digital interchangeable lens. This lens is a combination of 16 lens elements in 12 groups which include two aspherical lenses and four extra-low Dispersion (ED) lenses. The focal length range of this lens is 7mm to 14mm. It has 114-degree angle of view and so the users will be able to get a lot more when they are trying to snap a picture.

The image resolution is higher even at corner to corner and also at wide angle settings. It has a large diameter glass moulded lens elements. So this lens provides F4.0 brightness over its entire zoom range. This lens allows the use of advanced contrast AF system when mounted on the new DMC-GH1 Lumix G Micro System camera. Face recognition feature is also available. This lens has a multi-coated lens elements which prevent flare and ghosts and the lens hood gets designed to resist strong sun shine.

The seven diaphragm blades induce a circular aperture diaphragm which gives a smooth experience in out of focus areas while shooting at larger aperture settings. The minimum aperture will be F22. It contains Micro Four Thirds lens mount. This lens has a micro four thirds which reduce the size and weight compared to other lenses.

The minimum focusing distance is 0.25m (0.8ft) at all focal lengths. The maximum magnification is approximately 0.08x to 0.15x which is equivalent to 35mm film camera. The maximum diameter is 70mm (2.76 inch).The overall length of this lens is 83.1mm (3.27 inch). This Panasonic LUMIX G VARIO lens weighs 300g (10.58 ounces).
