Was anyone out shooting pictures of the Deep Impact NASA mission?
Supposely the impactor spacecraft that smashed into Comet Tempel 1 generated light five to six times as bright as the comet itself.
I didn't have a telescope, but was out with my effective 840mm f/11.2 lens (see my "Stacking Teleconverters" article), trying to capture this event. But the time came and gone, I didn't see anything in my viewfinder.
I also had a camcorder with 20x zoom lens and a 1.9x teleconverter. It also didn't capture anything in the sky.
What about you guys? Were anyone able to capture any pictures or videos?
