Tips for Photographing Memorial Day

If you're having a large family get together or picnic over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, make sure to get a wide variety of pictures to capture the day. Get shots of adults talking as well as kids playing. Get shots of the food, the games, or anything else you do. Try to get a good mix of candid or action shots as well as posed shots where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling. When all is said and done, you'll have a good "photojournalistic" style that will tell the story of the day through pictures.

It's nice to get some group pictures, but candid pictures are the best. If you're really interested in getting good pictures, be prepared to walk around for a period of time with a camera ready. Maybe at the end, you could get a picture with everybody in it at the end, when they're tired and happy.
