Some thoughts on the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lens

I'm looking to buy the Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens, and you say in your review that the lens does not work well in daylight situations. Why is this? Thank you for your time.

The 85mm f/1.8 USM lens works just fine in daylight situations. I simply find it less useful than other lenses in my collection, because I don't need the big f/1.8 aperture in bright daylight. My statement in context:

"In daylight or pseudo-macro situations, this lens is not as useful as my other general-purpose zoom lens."
