Available DSLR Camera SDK's

I am looking for available DSLR SDK's.
So far I am not getting very far.

I would like to control a good quality one
through a USB2.0 port - eg - take pictures
and transfer the results. I program mostly
in C++.

(1) Canon looks the most promising. They have
an SDK for developers. I have submitted my application
now three times, and have recieved no response.
The EOS line of cameras looks appropriate. Is something
going on with Canon? Or is there something wrong with my application?

(2) Nikon also has nice products. However I have not
gotten anywhere with these guys. I did not see anything
in their web site for an SDK, like I did with Canon.
When I called, I got someone PM with a link to Trimble.

(3) Panasonic looks interesting as well, but also I have
not found the SDK.

Perhaps I am not looking hard enough. But any pointers
would be appreciated. And if this forum has some recommended
brands of cameras, let me know.

Greg Walsh
