No viewfinder right before shot

Hello everyone,

I have a little problem with my Canon Powershot SX 100 IS connected through USB and the Canon SDK.

Everything works fine, I use a wrapper to integrate the Camera into a .NET C# written piece of software.
My little problem is: About 3-4 seconds before the camera takes a picture, the viewfinder isn't available.

So if someone stands before the camera and wants to look wether he is in the right area to get onto the picture, he has to stand still in these 3-4 seconds.

Is there a way to solve this problem, might it be a problem of my software or is the reasen in the camera?
Is there another Camera from Canon or are there other SDKs from other brands where you don't have these problems?

Thanks a lot for your comments!
