Memory Card Unrecognized by Computer

I put my SanDisk memory card into my laptop and nothing happens. Also, it doesn't appear in the "my Computer" folder...what should I do? Also, when i tried to load my pictures onto the computer while the memory card was still in the cameras, it said that the card was locked, but it isn't locked!

Does your camera recognize the memory card? How big is it? Is it a SD Card or a SDHC Card?
