SD Bridge

Does anyone know whether it is feasible from a signals point of view to connect a USB/SD reader 1:1 with a SD card via a flat ribbon cable, then put the SD card in the camera, and the USB/SD reader in a PC. See the attached diagram.

Obviously VCC and GND should only come from one side, but what else?

Basically, I'd like to have a form of shared memory between a dissected camera CCD board and an embedded PC, but purely readonly from the PC side.

Has anyone tried this, anything obvious I am missing?
