Hi,
I recently took some photos but did not have the date and time displayed on the camera.
When I had them processed it came back with From 07 Jul 03 to 08 Dec 03 printed at the top of the sheet of thumbnails.
Is there any way in which I can recover the dates for each individual photograph?
Also, where did the dates on the thumbnail sheet come from?
I would be very grateful if you could offer any help as I desperately need to prove a disputed date.
The camera is a Nikon Nuvis 300.
Many thanks

The date and time are stored in the magnetic strip on the film. When you shoot a picture with APS camera, the camera automatically records the date and time on the magnetic strip.
It is most likely that you forgot to set the date and time on your APS camera to the current date and time when you shot those pictures.

Hi,
is it possible to easily identify the manufacturing date of a APS-film cartridge by its ID.code ?

Herwig, I don't believe it is possible to identify the manufacturing date of APS film through the IX magnetic code.
I once bought some old short-dated APS films from FreeStyle Photographic Supplies locally in LA. There was no cardboard wrapping and no way for me to tell how long before they expire, or if they have already expired.

You can identify the film maifacturer not from the IX data, but from the DX optical data...
