Cheapest vendor on Amazon is not necessary the most cost effective

I love ordering from Amazon. It's price is fairly low. And it lists all of the prices from competing vendors.

Today, I ordered the Canon TC-80N3 Timer Remote Control. When I looked at its Amazon product page, I see that Adorama Camera has the lowest price at $128.95. That's about $10 cheaper than Amazon's price of $137.04. Both of these Vendors are my favorite (see my "Where to buy cameras?" article).

But when I checked out, Adorama tagged a $9.95 shipping and handling charge to make it a total of $138.90. That is almost $2 more than Amazon. What about Amazon shipping charges? Remember that Amazon has FREE Super Saver Shipping that makes shipping most over-fifty dollars purchases free.

In the end, I still went with Adorama Camera because the Canon TC-80N3 is back-ordered at Amazon; "Usually ships in 1 to 2 months". In the future, be sure to check all shipping charges before putting in an order.
