Adding sound to video - SR75

We have a Sony SR75 but just can't work out how to edit/add audio to the video before publishing - can you PLEASE help? Many thanks. We are downloading to a Sony laptop running Windows Vista - if that helps.

I think at that point, the camcorder is out of the equation. You'll be using a video editing software, such as Windows Movie Maker. What are you using to edit your video? You will have to find one that lets you add audio tracks. Adobe Premiere will do, but it is an expensive professional package. This thread has some free ones: Free Video Editing Software.

We have been using Picture Motion Browser but I have also tried importing the video clips into Windows Movie Maker and although I can add audio that plays on the computer it does not then transfer onto a DVD to play on a DVD player - when burned using PMB, however, it does.

I suppose you are transfer the video from your camcorder to your computer in DV format (with the Firewire cable). If so, then it's a matter of . . .

1. editing your movie in Windows Movie Maker
2. add your audio
3. save the result as DV format file
4. import the DV format file in Picture Motion Browser
5. burn it to DVD

If you didn't start with the DV format file, but are using the USB cable, then I don't know if Picture Motion Browser will handle DV or not.

We have been using the USB transfer but we'll try the DV transfer and see how we do. Many thanks for your help - I'll let you know.
