Will microSD Card Used in Sony Phone Work in Samsung Phone?

So, I was wondering if you tried using the microSD on non Sony products yet. I have a whole bunch of Sony items and my old phone even had a memory card in it but I just recently bought a Samsung phone (since it had less glitches than the Sony brand). Thing is, I was wondering if you tried using that microSD on nonSony products cuz I want to get a microSD for the Samsung phone but all I have are Memory Stick Pro adapters. If I stick the microSD into the converter and into the adapter, will it not work in my phone anymore?
